Ballarat has woken to eased coronavirus restrictions this morning.

From 11.59pm last night we can now have 2 people to our homes daily and 20 people can gather outdoors.

Probably more importantly however, gyms can re-open, great for both our physical and mental health.

Ballarat pubs, restaurants and cafes can welcome more people through the door from today also, but owners doubt they’ll turn a profit.

Up to 150 people will be allowed on the premises, however only 75 will be permitted indoors.

Hop Temple owner Brian Taylor says cold weather will likely prevent most Ballarat pubs from operating at full capacity.

"I find it a bit unbelievable that you could have anyone outside, or classed as outside, given the winter weather."

"Most venues will be working on the 75 maximum, and that's it," Mr Taylor said.
