Ambulance resource boost needed urgently - says MP Staley
A Western Victorian MP has hit out at Ambulance response times across the Central Goldfields.
Louise Staley, the state Member for Ripon, says that data from the January to March quarter this year shows that only 56% of ambulances attended code one call outs within the 15 minute target.
Central Goldfields is well below the state-wide average of 75.1% and even further behind the Ambulance Victoria target of 85%.
“Our region’s hard-working paramedics, Ambulance Community Officers, and Community Emergency Response Teams do an incredible job under challenging circumstances, but they urgently need more resources,” Ms Staley said.
“Everyone of these statistics is a person who didn’t get an ambulance in the time the Government promised he or she would, and they reflect an ambulance system at breaking point and badly under-resourced.”
