Beaufort Police have busted a man travelling allegedly at 158km/h in an unroadworthy vehicle at Cardigan on Friday night.
Police observed a Holden utility driving erratically before it was clocked at almost 60km/h over the 100km/h limit on Cuthberts Road about 8.30pm.
The Holden was intercepted and the driver, a 21-year-old Alfredton man, is expected to be charged on summons with driving at a dangerous speed, exceeding the speed limit and driving an unroadworthy vehicle.
His vehicle was also impounded for a period of 30 days.
It comes following two serious speeding offences last week, one on the Western Freeway where a Mazda Tribute was 73 Km/h over the limit and another on Cherry Flat Road with the vehicle about 40km/h too fast.
Both drivers were fined and had their cars impounded.
