Ballarat's Magistrates' Court will begin hearing cases online this week for matters that were adjourned earlier this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Anyone with a matter due to be heard should not attend in-person but instead go to the Magistrates' Court website so they can arrange an online hearing.
Victoria's Chief Magistrate, Judge Lisa Hannan, says while the mode of delivery will be different, justice will continue to be served.
"I'm very pleased to say that from this week the Magistrates' Court of Victoria will no longer be adjourning hearings in our regional courts, instead we will be moving hearings into our online Magistrates' Court," Judge Hannan said.
