Freedom as Regional Victoria takes 'third step'

Andrews Presser CoronaRegional Victoria, including Ballarat, will move to the third step of the Premier’s road map from 11:59pm Wednesday night.

That means is lockdowns will come to an end across Victoria in areas outside of Melbourne.

The four reasons to leave the house will no longer be in place with Regional Victoria free to leave their homes at any time and for any reason.

Dining returns for the hospitality industry, largely outdoors, with group limits of 10 and density limits in place.

Regional travel is also permitted to resume with overnight accommodation allowed, giving Regional Victorians the option to travel anywhere across the state except Melbourne.

There are still restrictions on how many people you can have at your house.

A ‘household bubble’ will need to be established with up to five people allowed inside you home from a maximum of one other household.

Limits on weddings and funerals are also being further relaxed.

Gyms remain closed and you must still work at home if you can.

Face masks are also still required to be worn at all times when outside the home.

It comes as Regional Victoria on Tuesday marks a fourth day of no new cases with a 14-day average of cases with unknown transmission now at the target of zero.

This is breaking news - more details on the third step of the road map can be found here.
