Children drive 4WD from QLD to NSW

A 10-year-old girl is among four children believed to have stolen a 4WD from central Queensland and driven it over the border into NSW.

Three boys, one aged 14 and two aged 13, along with a 10-year-old girl took the silver Nissan Patrol from Gracemere, in the Rockhampton region, on Saturday, Queensland Police say.

The 4WD belongs to the father of one of the children.

The group took fishing rods and cash, and one of the children left a note for his family indicating he was leaving.

The four-wheel drive was seen at a service station in Banana at 4.45am where it was filled up with petrol before being driven off without the petrol being paid for.

It's believed the vehicle has since travelled across the border into NSW and was seen near Glen Innes early on Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the location of the children is urged to contact police.
