L2P car theft disappoints Ballarat Foundation boss

In a blow for the Ballarat Foundation one of its L2P learner driver cars has been stolen and written off.

It was taken from a secure yard over the weekend and found yesterday about 250Klm away in Mooroopna near Shepparton.

Foundation Chief Executive Andrew Eales says it’ll impact the L2P program.

“It’s really disappointing to have had this occur.”

“We have nine vehicles that support this program, and the program really does help young people to get an opportunity.”

“These are people from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds who need a license to help with their job prospects and to help them get around,” Mr. Eales said.

The replacement cost for the car is estimated at between $25,000 and $30,000 plus insurance costs.
