World famous photographer Platon has arrived in Ballarat today ahead of tomorrow’s first day of the 10th Foto Biennale.
This afternoon he gave the media a sneak peak of his exhibition ‘People Power’ at the Art Gallery of Ballarat which features candid shots of some of the world’s most famous faces.
CEO of Ballarat International Foto Biennale Vanessa Gerrans described this year’s event as a moment of reflection; an event that encourages visitors to question and decipher, and above all else, explore.
“We have reached far and wide into all corners of the world to bring together the greatest collection of photographs that have documented our generation.”
“This event encourages curiosity, and we invite all to experience the city of Ballarat through a different lens,” Ms. Gerrans said.
This year’s event is expected to attract about 30,000 people to the city across the 8 weeks of the festival.
