Homicide Squad Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Ararat today.
Emergency services were called to an address on Kennel Road about 11.45am this morning following reports a woman had been shot.
Police say a woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene, whilst a man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The parties are believed to be known to each other and detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
