Sovereign Hill says after almost a week of this years Winter Wonderlights, numbers are on track to once again see close to 100,000 people attend.

This year’s display features a spectacular new Main Street sound and light show, faux snow and around 20Km of fairy lights looping the park.

The Museum’s Deputy CEO Katrina Nitschke says the nighttime nature of the display ensures many visitors stay overnight in Ballarat.

“We are absolutely embedded in the heart of our community and people come out to enjoy Winter Wonderlights with us.”

“But that’s only about 20% of our visitors, about 80% of the people come to Sovereign Hill from out of our region, about half from Melbourne, the rest from interstate and right across regional Victoria and they stay more than one night,” Ms. Nitschke said.

Winter Wonderlights runs as part of the Ballarat Winter Festival until July 16th.
