Two people arrested after allegedly stolen car chase

Two Ballarat locals have been arrested after an allegedly stolen car chase through the region yesterday.

Police believe three people took the vehicle in Bacchus Marsh before joining in a convoy with another stolen vehicle at around 9:30am.

Airwing and officers from the Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit followed the car from Bacchus Marsh to Buninyong, before it collided at speed with an oncoming truck and hit a light pole in Sebastopol.

A man and a woman, both 20-years-old, attempted to escape police on foot before they were arrested at around 10am and were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A third man also fled and is yet to be located, with police also investigating the whereabouts of the second stolen car.
