Commuters on the Ballarat to Melbourne train line are being forced to deal with major delays today.
According to passengers on a mid-morning service the initial delay was caused by an oil spill on the tracks with busses called in to replace trains between Ballarat / Wendouree and Caroline Springs.
Large crowds were witnessed at Bacchus Marsh station as travelers needed to show patience waiting for busses.

V/Line says delays are still occurring and advise commuters to allow an extra 60 minutes for their journey.
Technicians are currently onsite investigating the issue.
