The City of Ballarat says a new capital works program will leave a legacy in the city for years to come.
The $144 million Delivering a Better Ballarat program includes council and government investment in a runway upgrade for the city’s airport, a rebuild of the Ballarat Animal Shelter, the redevelopment of Bridge Mall and development of the Sebastopol Community Hub.
The council says many of the large-scale projects that form the current program have been ‘on the books’ for some time.
In a statement, Mayor Des Hudson said the works were a tangible demonstration of the council’s commitment to the Ballarat community and its future.
