Over 60 staff from all agencies worked across Friday and Saturday as Ballarat and Moorabool police conducted one of their biggest traffic operations to date in the region.
Operation Curdled aimed to reduce trauma on local roads by detecting and charging drunk and drug drivers, as well as checking the compliance of heavy vehicles.
During the operation, over 1,800 breath tests were conducted, four vehicles were impounded and 11 vehicles were issued with defect notices.
One driver lost their license for six months after an alleged reading of .096, whilst another was detected allegedly travelling at 136Kph in a 40 zone.
The operation was conducted with the assistance of the State HWP as well as members from the Ballarat, Moorabool & Northern Grampians Highway Patrols, Victoria Police Heavy Vehicle Unit & Drug and Alcohol Section, the SES, Vic Roads, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Ballarat Police & the WD3 Drone Unit.
