Local footy teams return to the field after bye round

After a bye round last weekend, the Ballarat Football League launches into round 9 tomorrow.

The Cobras will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins when they take on the struggling Panthers.

Seventh placed East Point must win when they take on the Lakers at Eastern Oval.

Ladder leaders Darley are away to the Roosters at Mars Stadium, with North having an impressive 14-3-win loss ratio on their home turf under coach Brendan McCartney.

And Buninyong and Clunes are getting set to shape up tomorrow as Central Highlands footy league action returns after the bye.

They’ll be playing in the Nathan Shanahan Memorial Cup.

Nathan, who played his junior footy with Clunes, sadly took his own life a number of years back.

His dad John has since started the ‘Walking Off The War Within’ event, designed to shine a light on mental health.
