Wet weather and rock have slowed Ballarat’s controversial Lake Wendouree / Victoria Park lighting project which was due to be complete around about now.
All electrical pits have been dug with boring complete around the 6.5Klm radius of the lake with only three poles remaining to be installed.
Meantime, Council CEO Evan King says all has gone well when it comes to protecting Ballarat’s lakeside trees during the project.

“Tree protection has been a high priority of the lake lighting project.”
“It’s been done under the control of arborists and proper inductions.”
“To date there has been no impact on trees there at all,” Mr. King said.
