‘It’s not the Comm Games it’s the Con Games’ – says Ballarat MP

A Ballarat headquartered upper house member is taking part in the Commonwealth Games cancellation inquiry which kicked off this week.

Western Victorian Liberal MP Joe McCracken says the axing of the games is now said to be costing taxpayers around $600 million and growing.

Mr. McCracken says the inquiry will head to regional areas in 2024.

“When we schedule sittings, they’ll also be coming out to the regions so Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo, Traralgon and Shepparton I dare say, at a bare minimum.”

“The dates haven’t been set yet, but we’ll be working with a lot of local stakeholders to make sure that we can get them in and hear evidence as well,” Mr. McCracken said.
