As work to install concrete footings for the controversial lake lights project gains momentum, council has urged people who don’t agree with it not to take their feelings out on contractors.
225 light poles will, by July, be placed around Lake Wendouree & Victoria Park.
The City of Ballarat’s CEO Evan King says if you have a problem with the lights let the city know, not those working on them.
“What I would ask is that comments should not be directed at the contractors.”
“Council has engaged the contractors to do a project and everyone has a right to feel safe in their workplace,” Mr. King said.
Seven light poles will also be installed along Morrison Street that will light a route from Lake Wendouree to nearby Victoria Park.
