St Brendan’s Primary School in Dunnstown will close its gates at the end of the 2023 school year.
The Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education forecast eight students across years 3 to 5 would be enrolled next year, with no foundation students for three consecutive years.
The regulatory requirement is a minimum of 11 students enrolled.
The Diocese said staff and families will be supported, with a number of alternative Catholic schools nearby ready to welcome St. Brendan’s families.
They have asked for local’s support and understanding, with celebrations to recognise the school’s history planned for later this year.
