The search is on for the next Australian Idol and Ballarat is in the producers’ sights.
Series 2 is set to go to air next year although the date remains a secret.
The Head of Global Formats for Eureka Productions who produce the show for the Seven Network, Wes Denning, says there’s plenty of talent in regional areas.
“The amazing thing about Idol is we’ve found some of the most incredible talent from regional areas before.”
“If you look at Australian Idol from last season, our winner Royston came from Mapoon in Far North Queensland.”
“We actually have some intel that there is some really great talent coming out of regional hotspots like Ballarat,” Mr. Denning said.
Special Ballarat online applications are open now with auditions set to take place via Zoom next month.
