It’s been a busy weekend on the road for local police officers.
Highway patrols impounded a car at Blowhard after the driver was allegedly caught 35 kilometres over the speed limit.
On Friday, a Ford Falcon sedan (pictured) was reportedly clocked travelling 135 kilometres in a 100 zone just after 1pm.
The car was stopped, with checks revealing the 30-year-old male driver had a disqualified driver’s licence.
Police impounded the car for 30 days at a cost of over $1,300, with the man to appear in the Ballarat Magistrates Court at a later date.
And a Ballarat man’s Saturday drive has cost him thousands of dollars.
Highway Patrol officers stopped the car on Eureka Street in the city as part of a routine check.
The driver was allegedly unlicensed and reportedly returned a positive breath test, despite needing to be 0.00 as part of his licence suspension and cancellation.
The 34-year-old had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of over $1,300 and is expected to be charged with unlicensed driving and drink driving offences.
