Ballarat’s newly installed Citizen of the Year isn’t sitting still with more community-based work ahead of her.

Allanah Crameri received the award after starting a Facebook group to support grieving parents after the loss of her son Lenny, just 21 weeks into her pregnancy back in 2022.

Her next project is ‘Babies Above’, a not-for-profit to support families who’ve experienced the loss of a baby.

“So, we’re ultimately wanting to support bereaved families in our hometown of Ballarat through many different avenues.”

“Bereaved Mothers and Father’s Day, the Gobal Wave of Light, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Week and Month and also have some in-person peer support groups which we’ve just started,” Ms. Crameri said.

Babies Above will hold its first gala fundraising dinner in Ballarat in March this year.
