Ballarat’s generosity on show in the face of tough times

A huge haul for the Ballarat Christmas Appeal will fill a lot of stockings for people in need this year.

Now in its 40th year, the appeal has taken in $115,000 from generous community members across November and December, along with a swag of gifted goods.

Formerly headed by Radio 3BA and now in the hands of the Ballarat Foundation, the appeal has been a major supporter of local charities as the receivers of the donations.

This year the money and goods will go to four charities – The Salvation Army, Uniting Ballarat, St Vincent De Paul, Ballarat and Anglicare Ballarat.

Monetary donations can still be made to the Ballarat Christmas Appeal up until Christmas Day.
