Health, education and transport services in Ballarat have received funding through the new state budget.
As part of an over $140 million capital investment across the state, Ballarat will receive new Youth Prevention and Recovery Care beds, providing treatment and support to youth experiencing mental health challenges.
The Ballarat early parenting centre will receive funding to continue their services.
Federation University TAFE in Ballarat and Mount Helen will also receive money for upgrades to support the delivery of regional TAFE training.
Under a multi-million-dollar package to improve bus and ferry services around the state, funding has been provided to review the bus network in Ballarat.
As part of the regional roads upgrade program, school crossing lights will be installed at Brown Hill’s Caledonian Primary School, whilst CCTV will be improved at stations along the Ballarat rail corridor.
Meanwhile, the total estimated investment for the Ballarat Station upgrade has increased by over $3.6 million, with the completion date now scheduled for the third quarter of the 2026-27 financial year.
