Mayor of the City of Ballarat, Des Hudson, says council needs to ‘own’ the outcome of a recent community satisfaction survey.

The results found the council rated on par with others when it comes to customer service, decision making and consultation.

However, community satisfaction was lower on waste management and sealed local roads.

Mayor Hudson says he doesn’t question the surveys method but does have questions about who actually gets surveyed.

“The data collection is a little bit strange,” he said.

“800-odd people that are surveyed may or may not have had any interaction with council at all.”
