Could this be the beginning of the end for Facebook? According to new research, teenagers are less interested in Facebook and more keen on its competitors, Instagram and Snapchat.
Research by American firm eMarketer has revealed Facebook’s monthly users aged between 12 and 17 will fall from 17.9 million to 14.5 million by the end of 2017.
This shift could be due to Facebook’s growing popularity among older generations including mums, dads, aunties and uncles rendering Facebook ‘uncool’ among teens, or could be because younger generations prefer the impermanence of platforms like Snapchat.
Either way, Facebook have no real cause for concern since they successfully purchased Instagram back in 2012 and Instagram is showing no signs of slowing down.
