The Simpsons is Celebrating 30 Years

"Art of the Pre-war Period": The Simpsons meme (painting by A. Powers-Fudyma)

The Simpsons is one of the most successful animated TV shows off all time and this week it celebrates a massive milestone. The Simpsons has just turned 30!

On April 19th, 1987, the very first Simpsons short aired on The Tracey Ullman Show, and it sure looked different back then...

Since then the show has not only gone on to entertain the masses, but also make a number of freaky predictions. There’s the time it predicted the rise of farming based simulators like the popular Facebook game, Farmville.

There was the 1994 episode that showed Springfield Elementary using “assorted horse parts” in the children’s meals, and then nearly 10 years later beef products being served in school cafeterias in the UK were found to contain horse DNA.

And of course, who could forget the time The Simpsons predicted Donald Trump would become President of the USA...

So let’s celebrate 30 years of laughter with some of The Simpsons’ finest moments!
