16 years jail for killer of Springbank war veteran

A man who was high on ice when he fatally stabbed a Springbank war veteran has been sentenced this afternoon to a maximum of 16 years jail.

Kenneth Handford was found dead on his 90th birthday in September 2015.

Jonathon Jeffrey Cooper has been found guilty of murder, theft and agravated burglary.

He admitted to stabbing Mr Handford 13 times in the back, leaving him tied up on the floor, where he remained for 5 hours.
